Initial Minor Flood Warning For The Barwon River

MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT WALGETT FROM MID NEXT WEEK
A flood peak along the Namoi River is currently approaching Goangra, and will approach the Barwon River at Walgett over the weekend and into next week. This may cause minor flooding at Walgett from around Wednesday.
A Moderate Flood Warning is current for the Namoi River at Bugilbone and Goangra.

Barwon River downstream of Collarenebri to Walgett:
Minor flooding possible at Walgett.
The Barwon River at Walgett is currently at 7.61 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Barwon River at Walgett may reach around the minor flood level (10.50 m) around Wednesday 20 August.

Flood Safety Advice:
Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.

Moderate Flood Warning For The Namoi River

MODERATE FLOODING FALLING SLOWLY AT BUGILBONE AND POSSIBLE AT GOANGRA OVERNIGHT FRIDAY
The main peak along the Namoi River has passed Bugilbone, where moderate flooding continues to fall slowly. The flood peak is now approaching Goangra, where river levels may exceed the moderate flood level from overnight Friday into Saturday. River levels may peak at Goangra from late Sunday into Monday.

Namoi River:
Minor to moderate flooding is occurring along the Namoi River.
The Namoi River at Bugilbone is currently at 5.74 m and slowly falling, with moderate flooding.
The Namoi River at Bugilbone may fall below the moderate flood level (5.50 m) Friday afternoon.

The Namoi River at Goangra is currently at 6.13 m and rising, with minor flooding.
The Namoi River at Goangra may exceed the moderate flood level (6.70 m) overnight Friday into Saturday. The river may peak near 7.30 m late Sunday into Monday, with moderate flooding.
