Detailed Severe Thunderstorm Warning
for Large Hailstones, Damaging Winds And Heavy Rainfall
for parts of Blue Mountains/Hawkesbury, Gosford/Wyong, Sydney and Maitland/Cessnock areas.

LARGE HAILSTONES, DAMAGING WINDS and HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Blue Mountains/Hawkesbury, Maitland/Cessnock, Gosford/Wyong and Sydney
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 3:30 pm, severe thunderstorms likely to produce large hailstones, damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding were detected near Hornsby, Richmond and Maroota. These thunderstorms are moving towards the north to northeast. They are forecast to affect Terrey Hills, Wisemans Ferry and Mangrove Mountain by 4:00 pm and Woy Woy, Brooklyn and Glenorie by 4:30 pm.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
* Keep at least 8 metres away from fallen power lines or objects that may be energised, such as fences.
* Report fallen power lines to either Ausgrid (131 388), Endeavour Energy (131 003), Essential Energy (132 080) or Evoenergy (131 093) as shown on your power bill.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.
* If you are trapped by flash flooding, seek refuge in the highest available place and ring 000 if you need rescue.
* Unplug computers and appliances.
* Avoid using the phone during the storm.
* Stay indoors away from windows, and keep children and pets indoors as well.
* For emergency help in floods and storms, ring the SES (NSW and ACT) on 132 500.
A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for parts of the Hunter, Metropolitan, Southern Tablelands, South West Slopes, Australian Capital Territory, Central Tablelands and Snowy Mountains districts.

NO FURTHER FLOODING EXPECTED AT MILL DAM FALLS
Heavy rainfall during Saturday and Sunday caused minor flooding along the Williams River at Dungog and Mill Dam Falls overnight Sunday into Monday. River levels are now below the minor flood level and will continue to fall during the remainder of Tuesday.
Showers and the chance of thunderstorms are forecast for the next few days which may cause renewed river level rises. At this stage these renewed rises are expected to remain below minor flood levels. The situation is being monitored and warnings will resume if required.
Williams River:
No further flooding is expected along the Williams River.
The Williams River at Mill Dam Falls is currently at 3.85 metres and falling, below the minor flood level.

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT LONG JETTY, LIKELY TO PERSIST UNTIL AT LEAST WEDNESDAY
Moderate to heavy rainfall was observed in the Tuggerah Lake catchment during Sunday, causing river and creek level rises across the catchment. Levels in Tuggerah Lake at Long Jetty are around the minor flood level during Tuesday morning and are likely to remain around that level until at least Wednesday, and possibly longer.
Showers and the chance of a thunderstorm are forecast over the next few days which may cause small additional rises as well as slowing the recession of levels in Tuggerah Lake into the weekend.
