MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT WINTON OVERNIGHT FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY
FLOODING CONTINUES AT DIAMANTINA LAKES
Recent heavy rainfall has caused river level rises and flooding across the Diamantina River catchment and its upper tributaries, including the Western River catchment. Moderate flooding is possible at Winton overnight Friday into Saturday. Further downstream, moderate flooding is occurring along the Diamantina River at Diamantina Lakes. River levels are above the causeway and easing slowly, as the peak continues to move downstream.
Further rainfall is forecast across parts of the Diamantina River catchment during the next few days. This rainfall may result in further river and creek level rises. This situation is being closely monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch is current for the Gulf Country and the Cape York Peninsula.
Diamantina River to Diamantina Lakes:
The Diamantina River at Diamantina Lakes is at 5.33 m and easing slowly, above the level of the Springvale Diamantina Lakes Road Causeway (2.10 m).
Western River:
Moderate flooding may occur along the Western River.
There are no current observations for the Western River at Winton.
The Western River at Winton is likely to exceed the minor flood level (1.50 m) Friday afternoon. The river may exceed the moderate flood level (2.00 m) overnight Friday into Saturday.
Diamantina River downstream of Diamantina Lakes:
River level rises are occurring along the lower Diamantina River downstream of Diamantina Lakes.

MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT BARCALDINE AND RETREAT DURING SATURDAY
MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT CAMOOLA PARK, LONGREACH AND LIKELY AT STONEHENGE DURING FRIDAY
Along the Thomson River the main flood peak has now passed Longreach and is now approaching Bogewong. This peak is likely to cause minor flooding downstream at Stonehenge from Friday.
The main flood peak along Jordan Creek has passed Jericho and is now extending into the Alice River, where moderate flooding is possible at Barcaldine over the weekend.
In the lower Barcoo River catchment, river level rises are occurring at Retreat with minor flooding. Further rises are possible as upstream inflows arrive from several tributaries.
Further rainfall is forecast across the catchment during the next few days, which may cause renewed river level rises. This situation is being closely monitored, and this warning will be updated as necessary.
Thomson River:
Minor flooding is occurring at Camoola Park and Longreach, and is likely at Stonehenge.
There are no recent observations available for the Thomson River at Camoola Park, however, the river level is expected to be above the minor flood level (2.00 m) and falling slowly.
The Thomson River at Camoola Park is likely to remain above the minor flood level (2.00 m) for the next few days. Renewed river level rises are possible with forecast rainfall.
The Thomson River at Longreach is currently at 3.61 m and falling slowly, with minor flooding.
The Thomson River at Longreach is likely to remain above the minor flood level (3.30 m) during the next few days. Renewed river level rises are possible with forecast rainfall.

MODERATE FLOODING LIKELY AT RICHMOND EARLY FRIDAY MORNING
MAJOR FLOODING ESTIMATED TO BE FALLING SLOWLY AT WALKERS BEND
Moderate rainfall since Tuesday has caused river level rises across the upper Flinders and Cloncurry catchment. Moderate flooding is likely to develop at Richmond early Friday morning. Along the Cloncurry River, minor flooding is occurring and river levels are peaking for a second time this week, following an initial minor flood peak Thursday morning.
Meanwhile, further downstream along the lower Flinders River at Walkers Bend, major flooding is estimated to be continuing and falling slowly following a major flood peak earlier this month.
Further rainfall is forecast for the remainder of Friday and into the weekend, which may cause further river level rises in the upper Flinders and Cloncurry catchments. This situation is being closely monitored, and warnings will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch is current for the Gulf Country and the Cape York Peninsula, which includes the Flinders and Cloncurry catchments.
Flinders River to Richmond:
Moderate flooding is likely at Richmond.
No observations are currently available for the Flinders River at Richmond Post Office. Based on the nearby automatic gauge, the river level is estimated to be rising, with minor flooding.

MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT TAEMAS EARLY FRIDAY MORNING
Moderate to heavy rainfall has been observed across parts of the Burdekin River catchment since Saturday evening, with particularly heavy falls over parts of the Belyando and Suttor River catchments. Moderate flooding is occurring along the Suttor River at St Anns, with a moderate flood peak possible from Friday.
Further moderate rainfall has been observed over parts of the Cape River catchment since Wednesday. Minor flooding is possible along the Cape River at Taemas from early Friday morning.
Further rainfall is forecast across parts of the Burdekin River catchment over the next few days. This rainfall may result in further river and creek level rises. This situation is being closely monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.
Belyando and Suttor Rivers to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Moderate flooding is occurring along the Suttor River at St Anns.
The Suttor River at St Anns is currently at 7.05 m and rising, with moderate flooding (6.50 m).
A moderate flood peak is possible along the Suttor River at St Anns from Friday.
Cape River to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Minor flooding may occur along the Cape River at Taemas.
The Cape River at Taemas is currently at 4.11 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
