Severe thunderstorms continuing through southeast and central parts of the state this evening.

Weather Situation
Slow moving thunderstorms developing in a moist and unstable environment to the east of a trough this afternoon through parts of the southeast.
HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Wide Bay and Burnett, Darling Downs and Granite Belt and Southeast Coast
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Toowoomba, Dalby, Kingaroy, Gatton, Cherbourg and Kilcoy.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Central Highlands and Coalfields and Central West districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED.
47 mm of rainfall was recorded at Millbrook in the 30 minutes to 3:30 am.
100 km/h wind gust was recorded at Goondiwindi at 1:07 am.

HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:

The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 4:25 am, a severe thunderstorm likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding was detected near Dalby and the area southwest of Dalby. This thunderstorm is moving towards the northeast. It is forecast to affect Crows Nest, Mt Mowbullan and Jandowae by 4:55 am and Kilcoy, Kingaroy and the area west of Esk by 5:25 am.

Minor Flood Warning For The Dawson River Catchment
Issued at 11:25 AM AEST on Saturday 22 November 2025

MINOR FLOODING EXPECTED TO BE OCCURRING AT MOURA AND BARALABA
Recent rainfall across the Dawson River catchment has resulted in river rises along the Dawson River and its tributaries.
River levels are easing at Taroom during Saturday, as a flood peak moves through the Middle Dawson River where minor flooding is expected to be occurring at Moura and Baralaba during Saturday.

Dawson River to Theodore:
River levels are easing along the Dawson River to Theodore.
The Dawson River at Taroom peaked at 4.39 m around 06:00 am Saturday 22 November, below the minor flood level. The river is currently at 4.33 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Dawson River at Taroom is expected to remain below the minor flood level (4.50 m) and continue easing.

Dawson River downstream of Theodore:
Minor flooding is expected to be occurring along the Dawson River downstream of Theodore.
No observations are currently available for the Dawson River at Moura. The river level is expected to be around 6.20 m Saturday morning and steady, above the minor flood level (6.00 m).
The Dawson River at Moura is likely to remain above the minor flood level (6.00 m) during Saturday, easing Sunday.

No observations are currently available for the Dawson River at Baralaba. The river level is expected to be around 5.00 m and rising Saturday morning, above the minor flood level (4.00 m).
The Dawson River at Baralaba may reach around 5.50 m Sunday morning, with minor flooding.

MINOR FLOODING NO LONGER EXPECTED AT SURAT
River level rises along the Upper Balonne River and its tributaries are falling and minor flooding is no longer expected at Surat.
No further significant rainfall is forecast for the next few days.

Balonne River to Surat:
Minor flooding is not expected along the Upper Balonne River to Surat.
No observations are currently available for the Balonne River at Surat (manual gauge). However, based on the downstream automatic gauge, the river level is expected to be below the minor flood level and falling.
The Balonne River at Surat is expected to remain below the minor flood level (5.00 m).
