Moderate Flood Warning For The North Esk River
Issued at 02:33 PM AEST on Saturday 26 July 2025
Flood Warning Number: 2

A PEAK NEAR THE MODERATE FLOOD LEVEL IS POSSIBLE AT CORRA LINN OVERNIGHT SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY
Moderate rainfall has been observed in the North Esk River catchment since Friday night. Further showers are forecast for the remainder of Saturday afternoon. River level rises and areas of minor flooding are occurring along the North Esk River. Further river level rises and areas of flooding are likely during the remainder of Saturday.
A Flood Watch is current for parts of the North and South East Tasmania

St Patricks River:
River level rises are occurring along the St Patricks River.
The St Patricks River at Nunamara is currently at 1.13 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
Further river level rises are likely along the St Patricks River at Nunamara, however the river level is expected to remain below the minor flood level (2.00 m).

Upper North Esk River:
Further river level rises are likely along the Upper North Esk River.
Lower North Esk River around Corra Linn:
Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is possible along the Lower North Esk River around Corra Linn.
The North Esk River at Corra Linn is currently at 2.87 m and rising, above the minor flood level (2.70 m).
The North Esk River at Corra Linn may peak near the moderate flood level (3.60 m) overnight Saturday into Sunday.

Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.

MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT LEWIS HILL AND FINGAL FROM OVERNIGHT SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY
MINOR FLOODING LIKELY AT LLEWELLYN OVERNIGHT SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY
Moderate to heavy rainfall has been observed across the South Esk catchment during Saturday. This is likely to result in minor flooding along the St Pauls river at Lewis Hill late Saturday afternoon, further rises to around the moderate flood level overnight Saturday are possible. Along the South Esk river moderate flooding is possible at Fingal and minor flooding is likely at Llewellyn overnight Saturday into Sunday.
Rainfall is expected to ease across the South Esk River catchment into Sunday.
A flood watch is current for North and South East Tasmania.

Break O'Day River:
River level rises are occurring along the Break O'Day River.
South Esk River above Fingal:
River level rises are occurring along the South Esk River above Fingal.
St Pauls River:
Minor flooding is likely along the St Pauls River at Lewis Hill and moderate flooding possible.
The St Pauls River at Lewis Hill is currently at 1.03 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
The St Pauls River at Lewis Hill is likely to exceed the minor flood level (1.70 m) late Saturday afternoon. The river level may reach around the moderate flood level (2.60 m) overnight Saturday into Sunday.

South Esk River - Fingal to Llewellyn:
Minor flooding is likely along the South Esk River at Fingal and Llewellyn. Moderate flooding is possible at Fingal.
The South Esk River at Fingal is currently at 3.81 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
The South Esk River at Fingal is likely to exceed the minor flood level (4.00 m) late Saturday afternoon. The river may exceed the moderate flood level (5.00 m) Saturday evening. The river may reach around 5.30 m overnight Saturday into Sunday, with moderate flooding. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.

The South Esk River at Llewellyn is currently at 2.13 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The South Esk River at Llewellyn is likely to exceed the minor flood level (4.00 m) overnight Saturday into Sunday. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.

Nile River:
River level rises are occurring along the Nile River.
