Moderate Flood Warning For The South Esk River And Minor Flood Warning For The St Pauls River

MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT FINGAL
MINOR FLOODING EASING AT LEWIS HILL
MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT LLEWELLYN SUNDAY EVENING
Moderate to heavy rainfall has been observed across the South Esk catchment during Saturday which has caused river level rises, with moderate flooding at Fingal. Minor flooding may develop further downstream at Llewellyn from Sunday evening. Along the St Pauls River, minor flooding is easing at Lewis Hill.
A flood watch is current for North and South East Tasmania.
Break O'Day River:
River levels are elevated along the Break O'Day River.
South Esk River above Fingal:
River levels are elevated along the South Esk River above Fingal.
St Pauls River:
Minor flooding is easing along the St Pauls River.
The St Pauls River at Lewis Hill peaked at 2.55 m around 9:00 pm Saturday 26 July, near the moderate flood level (2.60 m). The river is currently at 2.40 m and falling, with minor flooding.
The St Pauls River at Lewis Hill is expected to remain above the minor flood level (1.70 m) during Sunday.
South Esk River - Fingal to Llewellyn:
Moderate flooding is occurring along the South Esk River.
The South Esk River at Fingal peaked at 5.55 m around midnight Saturday, with moderate flooding. The river is currently at 5.52 m and steady, with moderate flooding.
The South Esk River at Fingal is expected to remain above the moderate flood level (5.00 m) during Sunday.
The South Esk River at Llewellyn is currently at 2.51 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The South Esk River at Llewellyn may reach around the minor flood level (4.00 m) Sunday evening.
Nile River:
River levels are elevated along the Nile River.

Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.
