Cancellation Of Severe Weather Warning

for Central, East Gippsland, North Central, North East and West and South Gippsland Forecast Districts.

Damaging winds and blizzard conditions have eased over the eastern ranges.

Weather Situation
Northerly winds have eased over alpine areas this afternoon, with damaging winds and blizzard conditions no longer expected.
cancellation of severe weather warning for the following areas:
Central, East Gippsland, North Central, North East and West and South Gippsland
This warning is now cancelled. Other warnings may be current. Please check www.bom.gov.au/warnings/.
Significant wind observations to 4:30 pm include:
Sustained 78 km/h winds with a 107 km/h wind gust at Mount Hotham around 10:15 am.
Sustained 69 km/h winds with a 100 km/h wind gust at Mount Buller around 10:00 am.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Stay away from fallen powerlines - always assume they are live.
* Stay safe by avoiding dangerous hazards, such as floodwater, mud, debris, damaged roads and fallen trees.
* Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.

No further warnings will be issued for this event.
Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 210. The Bureau and State Emergency Service would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.

for Central forecast district

Warning to Sheep Graziers for the following areas:
Central forecast district
Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, rain and showers and northerly winds are expected during Saturday. Areas likely to be affected include parts of the Central forecast district. There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.
Cancellation of Warning to Sheep Graziers for the following areas:
Mallee, Wimmera, Northern Country, North Central, North East, South West, West and South Gippsland and East Gippsland forecast districts
The Warning to Sheep Graziers for the Mallee, Wimmera, Northern Country, North Central, North East, South West, West and South Gippsland and East Gippsland forecast districts has been cancelled.

The next warning will be issued by 11:00 pm EST Saturday.
