for parts of Central West, Lower West, Central Wheat Belt and Gascoyne districts.

Severe thunderstorms through central Western Australia this evening.
Weather Situation
Severe thunderstorms are continuing along a trough through central Western Australia this evening.
Warnings for Saturday 13 December
HEAVY RAINFALL, LARGE HAILSTONES and DAMAGING WINDS for the following areas:
Gascoyne, Central West, Lower West and Central Wheat Belt
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding, large hailstones and damaging winds in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Moora, Dalwallinu, Eneabba, Jurien Bay, Dowerin and Morawa.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Goldfields and South Interior districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED.
25.2mm was recorded at South Holmwood in the 30 minutes to 9:39 pm.
33.6 mm was recorded at Wiluna in the 1 hour to 5:26 pm.
115 km/hr wind gust was recorded at Morawa Airport at 5:35 pm.
107 km/hr wind gust was recorded at Wiluna at 4:58 pm.
96 km/hr wind gust was recorded at Mount Magnet Airport at 4:42 pm.
96 km/hr wind gust was recorded at Meekatharra Airport at 3:35 pm.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* If outside find safe shelter away from trees, power lines, storm water drains and streams.
* Close your curtains and blinds, and stay inside away from windows.
* Unplug electrical appliances and do not use land line telephones if there is lightning.
* If there is flooding, create your own sandbags by using pillow cases filled with sand and place them around doorways to protect your home.
* If boating, swimming or surfing leave the water.
* Do not drive into water of unknown depth and current.
* Slow down and turn your headlights on.
* Be alert and watch for hazards on the road such as fallen power lines and loose debris.
* If it is raining heavily and you cannot see, pull over and park with your hazard lights on until the rain clears.
The next warning is due to be issued by 1:25 am.
